Property Tax Credit for Homeowners

A joint county-state initiative offers property tax credits for homeowners with low-to-moderate incomes and modest net worth. Starting this year (2007), there's an additional credit for homeowners age 70 and over. The deadline for applying for the credit has been extended to October 31, 2007, for this year, or anytime after that for next year. Just file an application with the State Department of Assessments and Taxation (SDAT). See the letter from the County Executive for more details.
