CAPITOL VIEW PARK, MARYLAND

Capitol View Park (CVP) is a neighborhood of about 350 homes in Silver Spring, MD. Capitol View Park was developed as a subdivision along the B&O Railroad metropolitan Branch between Forest Glen and Kensington in the latter part of the 19th century. CVP was the first neighborhood to be designated as an historic district in Montgomery County, Maryland. Nestled between Kensington and Forest Glen, CVP is ideally ideally situated for commuting to locations in Maryland and Washington DC, and yet retains a sylvan character.

The most wonderful thing about CVP is the people who live here. The neighborhood has people of all ages and all walks of life.  It's a great neighborhood to live whether you are here to raise a family, enjoy retirement, create an urban homestead-whatever it is you do here, it is a great place to simply pursue the kind of life you enjoy-and make friends.More information can be found under About CVP and About the CVPCA.

THANKS to everyone who came out for the FIRST ANNUAL IVY-BULB DAY!

It was a very beautiful fall day, and so inspiring how so many neighbors came together to help beautify our neighborhood, and  protect our trees! Together we planted 250 daffodil bulbs, and pulled a huge amount of ivy off of the trees in the Stoneybook lot.  Thanks also to Bruce Cohen for bringing and helping spread a truckload of compost on all of the bulbs. Also, last but not least, thank those of you who helped plan the event, and is planting  a lovely array of Daffodils, Jonquils and Grape Hyacinth at the neighborhood signs.
